Classic procurement process
Buyers approach the procurement of translation services as if it were exactly the same as procuring standard parts. One simply specifies the target language and the cheapest translator is then selected. The classic approach entails approaching a translation agency, which then sub-contracts translators. Buyers purchase this service, without understanding the contents.
Translations are clearly far more complex than standard parts. Ignore this and translations will bring you no joy.
The aim of a tender is to obtain something for a company at a favourable price. On average, we cut the cost of translation for our customers by between 50% and 70%. In doing so, we achieve greater success than any buyer – without issuing a single tender.
